Kashan, a city located in Isfahan province, is the first of the large oases along the Qom-Kerman road on the edge of the central deserts of Iran. Its fascinating feature is mainly due to the contrast between the vastness of the deserts and the greenery of the oasis.
Sialk Hillock, which lies west of the city, is the home of archaeological discoveries, implying that this region is one of the primary centers of civilization.
Kashan is well-known for producing carpets, silk and other textiles all over the world. At the present time, Kashan is the home of a wide range of Iran’s mechanized carpet-weaving factories.
Two of remarkable towns around Kashan are Qamsar and Abyaneh that attract tourists all year round. One of the noticeable historical attractions is located in a nearby town, called Niasar, featuring a man-made cave and fireplace.
The city is considered the third world known Iranian historical city after Isfahan and Shiraz, and hence is among the most popular destinations for tourists.

The city is also prominent in architectural sights, including Agha Bozorg Mosque, Āmeri House, Boroujerdi House, Jalali castle, Tabātabāei House, Abbāsi House, Sultan Amir shrine and bath, 40 Dokhtaran Fortress, Pirouz Nahavandi/Abu-Lu’lu’ah Shrine (the assassin of Islam ‘s second Caliph), Ghal’eh jalali, Jameh Mosque of Kashan, Kashan Bazaar, Menar tower, Manuchehr Sheybani museum of Art, and Toy Museum. One of the most famous architectural sights of the city, which also implies on how ancient it is, is the Underground City of Noush Abad, being the world’s most ancient underground city, which dates back to 16th century.
Along with its numerous tourist attractions, the city has also been active in health tourism in recent years. Holding the fourth National Mint Festival in September 2016, focusing on health tourism with the presence of prominent physicians and professors gathering from all over the country in Fin, represents the city officials’ emphasis on the improvement of health tourism in the city.
